Thomas' First Birthday

Let the celebration begin....
We brought cupcakes to Thomas' school for his birthday.

Everyone enjoyed the cupcakes, especially the birthday boy.

The little prince surveying his birthday spoils...

Thomas received many cars for his birthday, including this Monster Truck from NaNa and Grandpa Tom.

One of the presents Grandma Vilma and Grandpa Duane sent him was this book. He liked the baby on the cover. And that there was also a car on the cover.

After presents we all went to an ice cream parlor to meet some friends.

Thomas' friend Ella with her parents enjoying the ice cream.

Thomas loves ice cream. He sampled a little bit of each flavor.

Aunt Lissa made Thomas a shark cake with buoys, life preservers, fish and dingy cupcakes.

Look at the shark teeth. It was a Twinkie in disguise. Way Cool!!!

Blowing out the candles. As you can tell Thomas was not that interested in the "birthday" traditions. He was still looking at the ice cream other people were eating.

He finished up the shark the next day. I guess it means it is good if he gets it all over his face.

Dun Dun..Dun Dun..Dun Du Dun Du Dun DU!! Take that Mr. Shark!

Sand and Sun on Padre Island

Thomas' first trip to the beach was to Port Aransas, TX.

Grandpa Tom dug a hole for the babies to play in. The boys collected sea shells, built sand castles and found small crabs at night, which they set free the next morning. Kasey is a water baby and liked sitting by the shore where the water would roll in.

Trace and Ben helped dig the whole. Kasey was a beach pro. Here she is playing in her Texas Rangers ball cap. Notice Thomas is not in the water.

Thomas helping Aunt Amy build a sand castle. That is Trace in the background. He built a sand castle of the Krusty Krab with the sign made out of sea shells.

Thomas had fun in the sand and water for about...5 minutes.

Soon after this was taken he started eating the sand, rubbing it in his eyes and getting salt water in his face. Oh, and crying.

We discovered his favorite part of the beach was sitting under the awning in Kasey's chair eating pretzel sticks.

His new nickname is "Cabana Boy."

It seems the nickname "Surfer Dude" will have to wait till next summer.

Playing with the Jeep and Red Car

Thomas and Ben riding in the Jeep. Grandpa Tom made the seat belt for the babies.

Here is Kasey and Ben in the jeep. She was actually enjoying the ride. Well, I do think here she was getting a LITTLE tired of Ben riding the brake so hard when he stopped.

Trace pulled one baby (Kasey here) in the red car while Ben drove the other in the Jeep. They got a kick out of passing each other in the driveway.

Thomas loved riding in the Jeep with Ben. He also loved Trace pulling him around in the red car.
He giggled the whole time.

A Day at School

I went to take pictures of the class on Ms. Julianne's last day but Thomas started crying when he saw the camera. He wanted to play with it but I wouldn't let him.

Some of Thomas' classmates and a teacher -
Taylor, Carina, Mrs. Diane and Brady, the baby, in the jumper.

This is Nishant. He is the other boy in the class (except for Baby Brady). He is very friendly. I woke him from his nap.

Brady, Eesha, Mrs. Diane, Ariana, Ms. Julianne and Taylor. This was Ms. Julianne's last day. Thomas liked her very much.

Playing in the toy section of the room.

By the time I left the room, I had woken up 2 sleeping babies and left Thomas and Taylor crying. I am sure the teachers were happy I came by.

Future Michael Phelps

Thomas took his first swim of his first summer.

He actually seemed mostly confused. Like, why am I having a bath outside.

And why am I wearing clothes?

With all the toys, he likes the piece of garden hose Grandpa Tom cut off for him. He likes to make noises in the hose and listen to the echo.

Crawling!!!

Thomas started crawling about 3 weeks ago.

He started with just the "army crawl" and by the end of the week he was crawling two or three steps at a time.

By the end of that week he was crawling like a Pro. Now he is all over the place.
There goes any free time :-)

Next stop...walking

Gardening with Grandpa

Thomas was helping Grandpa plant some new plants in the front yard.

Thomas is trying an all natural diet.

This is for fiber.

I like riding in the wheel barrel.

Little Red GTO

I got my first red convertible.

Can you get a ticket for only going backwards?

Do you think I can get on Speeders?
