Hanging out in the Morning

Since Thomas' cousins are in Dallas, he decided to hang out with the "friends" they keep at NaNa's house this morning.

Thomas with Trace's Optimus Prime and Ben's Spiderman

He is catching up with Spiderman, but he has a way to go to close the gap with Optimus.

Do you think Optimus Prime minds being gnawed on?

Bathtime

Thomas' favorite part of the day is Bathtime.

He gets excited when he hears the water running.

He likes to sink into the water and soak up to his chin. He also likes when I pour the water over his body to rinse off.

Here he is blowing raspberries.

He had been doing this all day.

First Taste of Solid Food, aka The Cereal Incident

Ok, that lady who feeds me is putting something in my mouth. I like chewing things. It makes my gums feel better.

This isn't hard. This is...mushy.

She is putting more of that mushy stuff in my mouth. This tastes horrible.

What does she expect me to do with this swill, swallow it?

What is this!!! Did I do something wrong??? Why is she torturing me?
What did I do to deserve this horrible punishment??

The horror! The horror!
Please don't make me swallow this! I can't take it! I'll talk! I'll talk!
Tell me what you want to know! Just stop putting this stuff in my mouth!

So, as you can see, our first attempt at eating cereal did not go so well. The first night we tried it with peaches. The next night went pretty much the same way (ending with Thomas red-faced and screaming). That night we tried it with bananas. It went a little smoother, but not by much. Hopefully, eventually, he will warm up to the eating thing. I don't think he'll look very cool on a date pouring formula into a wine glass.

We'll just keep practicing. And trying different fruit.

Three Kings Day

Thomas' paternal side of the family celebrates Three Kings Day, which occurs on the 12th day after Christmas (January 6th). The night before the children set out grass and water for the camels and the Three Kings bring them a present, just as they brought gifts to Baby Jesus.

Here he is helping to open his Three Kings' Day presents.

I think I am finally getting the hang of this gift thing.

He was timid at first but now he really likes standing up. I think he likes being eye to eye with people when they are sitting next to him on the ground.

Visiting with the Cousins at Christmas Time

Ben thought the beard was funny and wanted to get pictures with him and the babies wearing it.

He did not know what to do with the accessories.

Almost all of them are smiling. Or is that fear on Thomas' face because he is tipping over?

The Silly picture to blow off steam.
They did a great job of obliging the adults and letting us take many pictures of them.

Christmas Morning

Thomas dressed as Santa's little helper.
He is going to love this picture when he gets older.
